The Russian war of aggression on Ukraine and its consequences are of great concern to us all. The consequences of this war are not yet fully foreseeable, but it can already be said with certainty that we are living in a new era.
Against this background, the question arises as to what this war means for the political and economic structure of our world. In order to entertain answers to this question in a top-class round, Global Neighbours invited Brigardier General (ret.) of the German Armed Forces, Dr. Erich Vad as a guest speaker on May 24th, 2022 in Vienna. The military policy advisor of former German Chancellor Angela Merkel is an intimate connoisseur of the geostrategic landscape of our time and gave us his assessment of the current situation, which represents an extraordinary challenge due to its complexity and possible consequences.
Together with him, participants discussed the implications of the war in Ukraine for Europe and the world.
