Watch Tracks to the Future 2026 in 4 minutes.
After a successful journey, we proudly present a trip down memory lane. Eighteen days ago, the Think Train departed from Duisburg. After inspiring stops across Europe, Central Asia and China, it reached the eastern end of the Silk Road in Xi’an.
The highlights of this years’ Tracks to the Future was proudly presented during the closing ceremony in Xi’an where Shaanxi provincial leader Zhao Yide welcomed our delegation amid the cultural legacies of the Tang Dynasty. Words of welcome came from Ms. Xing Shanping, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Shaanxi Provincial Committee, and Dr. Philipp Rösler, Secretary-General of Global Neighbours.

The conversation picked up speed in a panel where H.E. Vuk Jeremić, former President of the UN General Assembly, H.E. Vladimir Norov, former Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, MEP Ondrej Dostal and Prof. Wang Hua of Xi’an Jiaotong University explored how Europe and Asia can shape a shared future. H.E. Yang Wanming, President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and Ms. Jovanka Porsche, Founder and Chairwoman of Global Neighbours, closed the ceremony, before the delegation set off for the world-famous Terracotta Army.
The highlights of this journey show that the conversations that began on the Think Train continue beyond this final station, in the friendships, ideas and partnerships formed along the way, and they are already becoming the starting point for new projects.
We are working hard to bring Tracks to the Future back for a second edition. In the meantime, a documentary about the journey is in the making, going deeper into the people and stories behind the ride.
