Global Neighboursย participatedย in the eventย โGreen Skills for the Future Energy Workforce: Bridging the Talent Gapโ, organised by our valued partner, Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL).ย As aย partner in the event,ย Global Neighbours was honoured to deliver the opening remarks, also highlighting Asiaโs perspective in advancing the green skills essential for the global clean energy transition.

Designed in the format of interactive, youth-focused sessions, the event explored how stronger collaboration between educational institutions, industry leaders, and policymakers can equip young people, especially in emerging markets, with the skills and pathways needed to thrive in the future energy workforce amid growing demand for qualified clean energy talent. A โspeed datingโ networking session that followed allowed youth participants to connect with our organisation and others,ย toย learn more aboutย actorsย working in the field, andย toย gain a better understanding of which labour market skills are valuable to employers.

The event took place in the context of this weekโs 2026 International Vienna Energy and Climate Forum (IVECF)ย โ co-hosted by the UNIDO, the Bundesministerium fรผr europรคische und internationale Angelegenheiten (MFA Austria), the Austrian Development Agency, and the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) โ which convenes leaders from governments, international organizations and the private sector to strengthen multilateral cooperation on energy, industry and climate.
Our sincere thanks go out to the outstanding organizers and speakers who made this event possible.
