Co-convened by Global Neighbours and the Capital Club Beijing, an evening reception brought together diplomats, business leaders, academics, and distinguished representatives of Chinese society for a substantive exchange on the evolving trajectory of Europe–Asia relations and the strategic pathways required to navigate an increasingly complex and interconnected global environment.
The Global Neighbours delegation, led by Jovanka Porsche, Founder and Chairwoman of Global Neighbours, was joined by H.E. Vladimir Norov, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and former Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, underscoring the organisation’s commitment to fostering high-level international dialogue across regions, institutional frameworks, and diverse political and cultural perspectives.

In his remarks, CEO Siddharth Chatterjee presented Global Neighbours as a Vienna based platform dedicated to advancing constructive and evidence-based dialogue between Europe, Asia, and the wider international community. In light of ongoing geopolitical transformation and increasing global fragmentation, he emphasised that sustained, credible, and trust-based engagement across borders is no longer optional, but essential.

Special appreciation is extended to the Ambassadors of Kenya and Türkiye, whose interventions highlighted the enduring significance of trust as a foundational element of international relations, as well as the patience, continuity, and human engagement required for its long-term development.
The evening reflected a clear sense of shared purpose and intellectual momentum. The historical Silk Road served not only as a commercial and logistical network, but as a lasting symbol of civilisational connectivity, demonstrating the enduring potential for exchange across cultures, regions, and historical experiences grounded in mutual respect and openness.
