Dr.Huiyao(Henry)Wang

Advisory Board Member

Dr. Huiyao (Henry) Wang is the Founder and President of the Center for China and Globalization (CCG). He is a former Counselor to China’s State Council, appointed by the Chinese Premier, and has held senior positions in policy and research institutions affiliated with China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Commerce, and the People’s Bank of China.

Dr. Huiyao (Henry) Wang is the Founder and President of the Center for China and Globalization (CCG), China’s leading independent think tank focusing on globalization, global governance, and China–world relations. He is a former Counselor to China’s State Council, appointed by the Chinese Premier, and has held senior positions in policy and research institutions affiliated with China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Commerce, and the People’s Bank of China.

Dr. Wang has been deeply engaged in international policy dialogue and multilateral cooperation. He serves on a number of international advisory and steering bodies, including the Paris Peace Forum, Duke Kunshan University, the Richard Ivey Business School in Canada, and Metropolis International. He has also served as an Advisory Board Member of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) of the United Nations.

Prior to founding CCG, Dr. Wang accumulated over three decades of experience across government, academia, international organisations, and the private sector. His career includes senior roles in international trade, investment, and infrastructure development, as well as government representation in Greater China and Canada.

Dr. Wang is a Distinguished Professor at China Foreign Affairs University and has held academic appointments at several leading universities in China and internationally. He is widely recognised as an expert on globalization, migration, and global economic governance, and has published more than 100 books and numerous articles in Chinese and English on these topics.

He obtained his PhD from the University of Western Ontario and the University of Manchester. Through his academic work, policy engagement, and international experience, Dr. Wang brings a global and comparative perspective to the Global Neighbours Advisory Board, supporting its mission to foster informed, pragmatic dialogue across regions and geopolitical contexts.
