Tracks to the Future Sets Off: A Journey of Dialogue from Duisburg to Xi’an

On 18 October 2026, Tracks to the Future set off from Duisburg towards Xi’an, beginning an 18-day journey of dialogue and discovery across Europe and Asia. Organised by Global Neighbours, the initiative brings together voices from politics, business, science and culture.

Our “Think Train” turns the journey itself into a meeting place. Through discussions on board, conversations around the table and encounters in cities along the route, participants have time to exchange perspectives, build relationships and deepen their understanding of one another.

As AI and digitalisation reshape our world, the journey offers an opportunity to consider what these changes mean for people, societies and international cooperation. At its heart is a simple conviction: progress should bring people closer together. Curiosity, compassion and a willingness to listen are essential to that ambition.
